The UNLV AMA is participating in a 2-year project sponsored by the federal government designed to raise organ donation awareness & increase organ donor registrations.

There are currently more than 112,000 people men, women and children in need of a life-saving organ.   Every 12 minutes another name is added to that list.   Unfortunately, 18 people die everyday waiting for an organ.   You have the power to save and heal lives!
 
A family waits and hopes a new heart will arrive to save their father’s life. A mother now walks without pain because of a bone transplant. A young boy grows up to lead a healthy life thanks to a kidney transplant. An estimated 97,000 people and growing in the U.S. arduously await an organ or tissue
transplant that can save their lives.

Every 14 minutes someone’s father or mother, son or daughter, is added to the waiting list and each day 16 people die waiting for an organ. You can
help dozens of people on the waiting list simply by becoming a donor.
