This will be a 'training' to get you ready to compete in next fall's main Contender Challenge. Students who attend the first two sessions of the Spring Training will be able to participate in the Case Competition on April 20, 2012 to compete for a cash prize! The case competition will take into account all you've learned from the first two sessions.

Dr. Janet Runge will be coordinating the event (janet.runge@unlv.edu), and we would like as many students to participate.  This is also a 'training' to get our AMA members ready to compete in the Contender Challenge again next fall!

Are you counting the days till conference?  We are!  We have four and a half months until the next AMA 34th Annual International Collegiate Conference, March 22 – 24, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel, New Orleans.  The theme of the conference will be Marketing: Always Evolving.  At the conference, we will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of AMA – talk about evolving!

On Thursday, March 22nd, we will kick off the conference with our fun-filled, high energy opening session featuring Mr. John Militello, Head of Creative Innovation at Google/YouTube as our keynote speaker.  What better way to show how marketing has evolved than with Google/YouTube?  Other speakers will be announced throughout the year, as well as our programs and schedule.

St. Baldrick’s: Our Vice-President of Programs, Michael Grema is helping to plan a Haircut Event part of Kappa Sigmas Bootcamp on April 10th from 10-3pm. The Haircut event will be to help promote the St. Baldrick's organization on campus and possibly raise funds aside from Kappa Sigmas Bootcamp. - Overnight relay-style event
- Teams of people camp out around a track
- Members of each team take turns walking around the track for the duration of the event
- Food, games and activities provide entertainment and fundraising opportunities
- Because it’s a Relay, you’re not required to be there the entire time…but it’s so fun, you’ll probably find it hard to leave!
